Abstract:

An experimental automated arc welding system is presented. A general overview of the system capabilities is given. This is followed by a more detailed description of the new measurement techniques which have been incorporated. A description of the control system structure includes details of some implementation considerations. This is followed by an example of a controller has been implemented. Finally, suggestions for further research are presented.
