reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: ADA227684 | Open PDF

Abstract:

This report describes several efforts that led to the development of the Instructional Support System ISS from prototype research and development RD software toward a production computer-based training CBT system that supports both computer-assisted instruction CAI and computer-managed instruction CMI. These efforts include the operational test and evaluation of the software, rehosting the software to a validated Ada complier, development of MicroCMI and interactive videodisc capabilities, development of critical user and system documentation, and design and development of a micro-based version of the software to run on IBM-compatible hardware. ISS is a Government-owned product, written in Ada in modular format, enabling it to run on machines ranging from micros to mainframes, and is available through the National Technical Information Service NTIS.
