Abstract:

When the wheels of landing aircraft impact a runway pavement, they deposit rubber on the pavement surface. As deposited rubber on the pavement surface. As deposited rubber accumulates, the available friction between aircraft tires and the runway surface is reduced. This results in hazardous aircraft operating conditions.
