reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: ADA215151 | Open PDF

Abstract:

The Department of Defense is considering the use of diethyleneglycol dinitrate DEGDN as a replacement for nitroglycerin in new propellant formulations. DIGL-RP Solid Propellant was evaluated for its potential to produce dermal sensitization in male guinea pigs. The Buehler test, which utilizes repeated closed patch inductions with the test compound, was used for this evaluation. No evidence that DIGL-RP Solid Propellant induced sensitization was obtained in the study. Keywords Mammalian toxicology, Buehler test, Munition.
