Preparation and Characterization of Copper(II) Oxide Single Crystals by Chemical Vapor Transport.
Abstract:
Single crystals of copper II oxide were grown by chemical vapor transport using tellurium IV chloride and hydrogen chloride as transport agents. Hydrogen chloride provided better transport resulting in larger crystals. The crystals were characterized by x-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility and electrical resistivity. Crystals grown using TeCl4 as a transport agent were p-type semiconductors. jes
