Health Care Marketing at Keller Army Community Hospital West Point, New York

Abstract:

The author maintains that there may be substantial room and need for the application of marketing techniques in military medical facilities. Such facilities simply do not know, firsthand, the wants, needs, and desires of their patients. Often they react to complaints outside stimuli, or higher headquarters rather than take a proactive marketing approach to management. This study seeks to determine if the concept of marketing and some of its techniques can be effectively used in the military system to population, the hospital administrator can better manage the institutions resources and maximize benefits to its constituents. The author makes recommendations which, if adopted would foster the relationship between Keller Army Community Hospital, and its patient community. Keywords Hospital administration Medical services.
