The Timeline Analysis Model
Abstract:
The engagement sequence, or timeline, of a tactical weapon system consists of a set of functions or processes, some of which must occur sequentially, while others may run in parallel. Each of these processes may be described by a different mathematical or statistical model. In order to be effective, a weapon system may have to complete its entire timeline within a certain time limit. The Timeline Analysis Model is a computer program which combines the models of the various timeline components to produce a cumulative total timeline distribution. From this distribution one can determine the probability that the weapon system will be successful in meeting its time limit requirement.
