Assessing Schema Knowledge
Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to explore issues involved in the assessment of cognitive development. The paper is divided into four sections. In the first the author the need for new theories of testing and for procedures that go beyond those currently in use. In the second section she proposes an assessment model based upon schema knowledge. In the third she offers data from a computer-based instructional system designed to promote schema development. Finally, in the last section she summarizes my findings and outline some important issues for future research.
