Abstract:

This study examines the history of five Maritime Labor Unions with an emphasis on the trend of wages and benefits over the past ten years 1976-1986. The five unions studied are National Maritime Union of America NMU Seafarers International Union of North America SIUNA International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots NMP National Marine Engineers Beneficial Association MEBA and the American Radio Association ARA.
