Abstract:

The mission of the Defense Technical Information Center DTIC focuses on providing services to authorized users. A service area of increasing importance relates to unlocking the information potential of commercial database systems on behalf of DTIC customers. Many customers lack the resources to obtain, or the required level of demand to justify, individual direct access to these systems. Centralizing user access for these customers, through the establishment of a dedicated DTIC function, is recommended. DTIC would access and search appropriate databases, at customer request, on a reimbursable basis.
