CRC Cross Correlation Aircraft Engine Emission Test Program.
Abstract:
The CRC sponsored a test program to compare the performance of aircraft emission measurement systems. The tests were conducted at the FAAs National Aviation Facilities Experimental Center, Atlantic City, N.J. This report details the results of an analysis of the secured cross-correlation emissions data taken over five weeks by seven participants. Results of the participant-to-participant variability of the gaseous pollutants are provided for C0, Co2, THC, and NOx at, low and high concentration, and low or high power. Results for smoke indicate additional development effort is required to secure repeatable smoke data among participants. The smoke analysis was also limited by the small amount of data and the high levels which are no longer typical of current engine emission control technology.
