A System for Korean Character Usage on a Graphics Laser Printer.
Abstract:
There is a current desire by Korean students at the Naval Postgraduate School NPS for using available computer systems for editing and printing the Korean character set Hangul for official reports and correspondence. Handwritten texts are not acceptable alternatives. Therer is an additional need to retrofit high performance western-produced computers for use by Koreans. This study attempts to attack both problems through the development of a Korean word processor on a U.S. computer, the Silicon Graphics, Inc. IRIS workstation, and an output capability on a U.S. produced laser printer, the QMS-1200.
