Abstract:

This thesis examines the ethnic political conflict between the German-speaking inhabitants of the South Tyrol and the Italian government to determine the causes and how it was eventually solved. The interaction of domestic politics in both Austria and Italy with their foreign policies are also discussed. Keywords Ethnic conflict Trentino-Alto adige Ethnic minorities.
