Persian Reader,

The course objective is to teach the student to understand printed material at L2 level of difficulty in Persian, be it social, political, or cultural in nature. Source material has been extracted from newspapers, magazines, books, poems, and other printed material. By design the material covers many aspects of Iranian culture and language usage. The exercises will improve all Persian language skills with emphasis on reading comprehension. Grammar is taught through contextual comprehension with the aid of special exercises. The student will be taught to deduce a words meaning from context without referring to the dictionary.
