Abstract:

The study presents a review of Operation cobra and the Falaise Gap maneuvers which were conducted by Allied forces against the Germans in France during July and August 1944. General of the Army Omar N. Bradleys role in planning and executing these operations is analyzed. The author examines the development of strategy and discusses the principles of war most responsible for the outcome of the operations.
