Global Coordinate System
Abstract:
The purpose of this document is to define and briefly discuss coordinate systems commonly employed at test ranges as well as to recommend procedures and practices for the use of a global coordinate system. This document is primarily intended for use by individuals familiar with the basic concepts and definitions commonly employed in geodesy. In order to aid the reader who requires additional background information, a bibliography of some of the standard texts on geodesy, map projections, and spherical astromony is provided, Keywords include Global coordinates, Regional coordinates, Particular range local coordinates, Datum transformations, Trajectory coordinate systems, Particular trajectory coordinate systems, Topocentric range coordinate system, Geocentric coordinate system, Earth-fixed spherical coordinate system, Cartesian inertial coordinate system, Spherical inertical coordinate system, Satellite orbital elements system, Geodetic coordinate system, and Summary of trajectory coordinate systems.
