Test and Evaluation of Method 2, GAU-8 30mm Ammunition Containers

Abstract:

On 10 Jan 83, testing commenced on a sealed version of the GAU-8 30mm ammunition container, hereafter designated the CNU-383. Testing concluded on 24 Mar 83. The CNU-383 passed all the required tests for qualification however, some deficiencies affecting container usability were detected. Design changes were recommended to correct these problems and should be incorporated into the container design prior to delivery.
