Some Further Applications of Finite Difference Operators

Abstract:

R.F. Link described a standard method of deriving the moments of the better-known discrete probability distribution functions by using finite difference operators. In this report these formulas are used to derive the moments of some basic distributions in occupancy problems and other known discrete distributions.
