Research under this contract has been concentrated on major problems in numerical linear algebra. 1 The determination of error bounds for Gaussian elimination. 2 The generalized eigenvalue problem AX lambda BX and its natural extension to the computation of the canonical form of the pencil A - lambda B where A and B are mxn matrices.
