Application of Tactical Data Systems for Training. Volume III. Development of Courseware and Analysis of Results for MOS 11B40
Abstract:
This research report demonstrates that a complex Computer-Assisted Instruction CAI system can be integrated within a tactical computer system and that learning does take place within the tactical computer environment. While it is unreasonable to expect that a given method of instruction will be applicable to all Army personnel, it should at least cover a fairly broad range of personnel with varying aptitude G scores. These personnel present problems in regard to training costs. While student cost time is a consideration, instructor time cost of preparation and instructing is a more heavily weighted factor. A training program which has the capability to reduce instructor time in relation to student time offers a cost-effective, cost-saving approach to training.
