Engineering Design of Heat Pipes.
Abstract:
The design problems resulting from thermal limitations in many industrial products can be alleviated by the proper application of heat pipes. The purpose of this report is to provide engineering design equations and practical guide lines in order to assist product development engineers in evaluating the usefulness of this device. The relationships which are formulated are for the mid-temperature range of heat pipe applications and only a brief discussion is given concerning specific problems which occur when dealing with the extreme temperature ranges. The assembly techniques for heat pipe construction are, to a great degree, tailored to the specific design and only general construction information is supplied. Author
