Abstract:

The National Flight Data CenterInformation System NFDCIS data communications requirements were analyzed to determine the technical feasibility and the most cost beneficial approach of NADIN support. The following conclusions were made The most costbeneficial approach to NADIN support of the NFDCIS data communications requirements provides for the use of NADIN for interactive and message traffic and dedicated facilities for the point-to-point, source-to-sink batch traffic. The most significant aspect of NADIN support for the NFDCIS data communications requirements is in providing the communications link between the NFDC host system and the external systems with which it must interface.
