Abstract:
The Manufacturing Methods and TechnologyMMT Program serves the U.S. Army Materiel Development and Readiness CommandDARCOM as a link between research and development activities and production. The primary aim of the program is to reduce the cost of weapon systems acquisition by improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes and implementing new technology. Although cost reduction is a primary concern, emphasis is also focused on reducing air and water pollution, increasing safety, conserving energy, and reducing dependence on critical materials.
