Basic Analytical Model for Environmental Impact Assessment of Surface Water Resources--DOSAG User Manual.

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: ADA069977 | Open PDF

Abstract:

This report discusses and provides user instructions for a computerized water quality model that will help satisfy the Army environmental planners need for quantitative information on dissolved oxygen resources in a stream caused by new Army projects or activities. The information provided by output from this model will be useful for providing data for impacts on the dissolved oxygen content of a stream for a single-reach, single-point-source pollutant inflow situation with steady-flow conditions. Three subprograms within the model are used to calculate the impact of carbonaceous and nitrogenous waste discharges on the oxygen resources in a receiving water body, the ultimate biological oxygen demand and deoxygenation coefficients for both carbonaceous and nitrogenous waste discharges, and annual variations in temperature of a water body.
