Research and Development Activities in Italy in the Field of Aerospace Structures and Materials,

After a summary of the main programs of the Italian aerospace industries, a review is performed of Research and Development activities, prevalently aimed at supporting these programs in the field of aerospace materials and structures also, autonomous research work developed by some Italian Universities in this field is inidicated. Author This review considers the activities concerned with metallic and non metallic aerospace materials, the fields of stress analysis, vibrations and aeroelasticity, fatigue and crack propagation and particularly interesting development work aimed at resolving design problems and at facilitating the introduction of new technologies. also, the main facilities developed are indicated. Author
