Synthesis of Polyesters Containing Tetrathiafulvalene Gropus in the Backbone.
Abstract:
Studies of highly conducting organic charge-transfer CT complexes have attracted enormous recent interest with the development of pseudo-one-dimensional organic metals. In particular, molecular CT complexes of either tetrathiafulvalenes TTF or tetraselenafulvalenes TSeF, with tetracyanoquinodimethane TCNQ have been most intensively investigated owing to their quasi-metallic conductivity. The preparation of TTF and TSeF derivatives have been reviewed and new synthetic procedures for preparing unsymmetrical TTF derivatives continue to appear regularly. However, there exists a clear need for such conductors with improved material properties and three dimensional conductivity. One approach to this problem is to prepare multidimensional networks or polymers. Author
