Abstract:

Results of a development program for an Integrated Power Unit IPU combining the functions of the Accessory Power Units APU and Emergency Power Units EPU for the aircraft are presented. The design and testing of two gas generators using gaseous oxygen GOX and JP-4 propellants are discussed. Subsequent design and test results for an IPU engine starter demonstrator that used one of the gas generators are also presented.
