Abstract:

Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield IPB concept is an attempt to significantly improve the processing and presentation of tactical intelligence information. It demands extensive preparation of terrain analysis information merged with weather and viewed in the context of a changing operational situation. The Tactical Intelligence Application Experimentation TIAX is an experiment to demonstrate the feasibility of automating the process and defining the required IPB products. The report presents the methodology used in TIAX, operational concepts for an automated IPB products. Specific concepts for automated terrain overlays, their development and development of mobility corridors are included. Finally the TIAX results and recommendations are presented, with a detailed list of data base and display categories. Author
