Guided to Landsat Image Enhancement Programs on the CCRS DECsystem-10/MAD Display.

Abstract:

This report describes a suite of programs for color enhancement of Landsat images. The report is both a users guide and an aid for programmers who may wish to understand, alter, or transport the routines. By following the guide, a user should be able to take any Landsat image on a Computer Compatible Tape CCT and produce on the Multispectral Analyser Display MAD display screen an enhanced image suited to his own individual requirements. The enhancement uses a principal components transformation of the Landsat spectra, determined by the statistics of an interesting area, and followed by another transformation which reduces the data to color values. This report is intended to aid users in handling the routines which implement the enhancement, not as a scientific or technical description of the underlying theories.
