Significance of Delta Ferrite Content to Fatigue Crack Growth Resistance of Austenitic Stainless Steel Weld Deposits
Abstract:
This report describes initial exploratory tests of fatigue crack growth resistance changes with one metallurgical variable, delta ferrite content, over a broad range of service temperatures. An initial study of the delta ferrite contribution to postirradiation fatigue behavior is also described. Reports documenting results of a companion study on preirradiation notch ductility characteristics versus delta ferrite content have been issued.
