Planting Guidelines for Dune Creation and Stabilization

Abstract:

Beach grasses have been used successfully in many coastal projects to form and stabilize dune systems as a natural barrier to the inland penetration of waves and storm surges. Techniques are available for the efficient propagation of beach grass for this purpose. This report provides guidelines for a selecting plants and planting methods b obtaining plants c storing, planting, and maintaining plants and d estimating labor requirements for planting projects.
