Small Technologies Management.
Abstract:
This paper is concerned with technology development within the Department of Defense. This multibillion dollar industry is constantly beleaguered with the charge that the results of the myriad investigations are not being reduced to practice rapidly enough. If this charge is true, its because the technology community and the systems development community view themselves as disparate entities. The author offers a hypothesis that the major shortfall in technology transfer is directly attributable to the attitudes and practices of technology managers, and secondarily attributable to the program managers, as well. An attitudinal approach which will accelerate technology transfer is presented for use by technology managers.
