Dental Alloys: Biological Considerations,

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: ADA034510 | Open PDF

Abstract:

In recent years, costs related to the laboratory fabrication of cast fixed dental restorations have increased markedly. Increased production costs have been, for the most part, manifestations of current gold prices. Searches for less expensive materials from which inlays, crowns and bridges might be cast have led to interest in the use of materials alloyed from base-metals rather than from precious constituents. Today, more than 20 base-metal alloys are available for clinical use. Author
