Abstract:

The design, fabrication, and performance of a 16 input1 output UHF switch matrix is described. Each switch is a combination of silicon-on-sapphire PIN diodes, operates in the frequency range 950-1220 MHz, provides a 50 dB on-off ratio, and switches in less than 2 nsec. The switch array is compatible with high frequency about 1 GHz, surface acoustic wave filter banks.
