Productivity Measurement.
Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to explore the theory and application of productivity measurement to the management of complex organizations. Stimulated by a review of significant literature, a substantial effort is made to construct a general theory for the use of productivity information in the management decision making process of a complex organization. This theory defines a set of necessary components for a productivity measurement system. Those components are, in turn, the desired outcomes of a procedure developed to facilitate the design of productivity measures. As an initial test of this procedure an Air Force Civil Engineering organization is analyzed. Author
