Radio Systems and the Ionosphere.
Abstract:
The Symposium was mainly concerned with the effects of the ionosphere on HF communication systems. It considered means of predicting the performance under given conditions and of making the optimum use of the ionosphere at a given time. The ionospheric effects on the propagation of signals to and from satellites was also discussed, chiefly in connection with amplitude scintillations in communication systems, and the positional errors introduced into navigational aids. The effects on VLF and LF navigational aids were also considered.
