Design of a CMOS, Fast Fourier Transform Module for Digital Signal Processing Applications.
Abstract:
A compatible set of digital signal processing module was built for use in small, low-powered systems. This report describes the most complex of these, a Fast Fourier Transform FFT Module. This module was designed to be implemented in LSI. Towards this end a prototype CMOS, wire-wrapped system was built. This prototype FFT Module was incorporated in a sensor system to analyze real time acoustic signals. For this system the FFT module performed transforms on blocks of 512 sixteen bit real data words in 75 msec. It is capable of handling up to 4096 complex or 8192 real data words of up to any desired bit length. Author
