The Graphics Terminal Display System: A Powerful General-Purpose CAI Package

Abstract:

The report describes a system developed to support research and development in computer-based instruction. A powerful and versatile CAI language was developed which allows authors to present materials on a graphic display, on slides, or by means of voice synthesizer. The language was developed on an IBM 36050 computer and is transportable to other similar machines. Comparisons are made between this system and others, such as PLANIT, PLATO, and TICCIT.
