Abstract:

A method is presented for the mechanized narrow-gap MIG welding of heavy plate steel 40-100 mm thick with consumable electrodes of 1.2 to 5 mm diameter. Data are given in regard to evaluation of mechanical properties of the weld metal and the capacity of the welded joint.
