A Theoretical Study of Corner Reflector Applications.
Abstract:
A corner reflector, consisting of three mutually perpendicular mirrors in the form of isosceles right triangles with legs of length L, was studied to determine what tracking information might be available if it were installled in the rear of a projectile. The degree of modulation of the retroreflected light has been determined as a function of attitude relative to the line of sight. The Doppler shift associated with the rotation of the corner reflector is shown to be zero to first order. In addition a number of other fundamental properties of corner reflectors are demonstrated.
