An Evaluation of Air Force Food Service Operations at Travis Air Force Base
Abstract:
The purpose of the project was to define, develop and evaluate broad improvements to the Air Force food service system as represented by food service operations at Travis AFB, California. In particular, the primary objectives were to obtain higher levels of consumer acceptance and satisfaction within existing cost and operational constraints, thereby increasing attendance and utilization of the dining facilities. The focal point of this effort was base level feeding requirements, excluding non-appropriated fund food service activities, hospital dining facilities and patient feeding, and inflight food service. Following completion of these studies, proposed solutions to the problems were actually implemented and evaluated in a food service experiment at Travis AFB.
