Ground Wave Propagation Charts for Selected Areas World Wide.

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: ADA006565 | Need Help?

Abstract:

Ground wave propagation charts are an analysis of effective radio communications characteristics without the use of the ionosphere. Many factors must be considered when attempting ground wave communications. Controlling elements include frequency, type of antennas, and the condition of the terrain over which propagation must be accomplished. The energy loss that a ground wave signal will encounter depends to a large extent on the type of earth over which the signal must be propagated. Three types of earth conditions are considered in the report poor ground, sea water, and where applicable, rice paddies. The ground wave ranges presented in this report represent the present state of the art and include seasonal data for an entire year.
