Abstract:

A total of five airborne telemetrycommand packages will be fabricated to meet the balloon instrumentation requirements. There will be one package that will be configured for R and D with the capability to provide the operational parameters and LoadStrain data for balloon design verification. This system will include a command system and two telemetry links with the capability of one commutated channel andor 17 continuous channels to provide a total capability of 35 LoadStrain measurements in addition to the operational measurements. The LoadStrain system will have a minimum capability of 9 load cells, 8 strain gauges, and 6 each three axis fabric monitors. The strain gauge measurements will be monitored on the nose structure in the moored position with other selected parameters via open loop RF andor land line.
