The Size Distribution of Cloud Drops in a Turbulent Atmosphere,

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: ADA000178 | Need Help?

Abstract:

The theory of condensation growth of drops under conditions when the supersaturation of vapor fluctuates due to turbulence appeared as one of the possible explanations of the observed wide size distributions of cloud drops. This work analyzes an approach to this problem developed basically in the works of L. M. Levin and Yu. S. Sedunov. An approach is also proposed based on the consideration of fluctuations of the concentration of nascent drops together with a difference in condensation levels.
