reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: AD1101299 | Open PDF

Abstract:

This fact sheet addresses four questions 1. How has the paperwork burden changed over time 2. What factors account for the observed changes 3. Have some groups been differentially affected 4. Have the reasons for data collection changed With respect to changes in burden, our analyses show a 27 percent increase in reported burden hours to 1.9 billion between 1980 and1987. However, looking at the contributing factors suggests that most of this increase stems from changes in the way the Office of Managementand Budget OMB accounts for burden.
