Electronic Warfare M-on-N Digital Simulation Logging Requirements and HDF5: A Preliminary Analysis

Abstract:

This report documents the investigations made in a rapid evaluation of the role of HDF5 technology in logging the output of electronic warfare EW computer simulations. The goal was either early identification of any clear disqualifications of HDF5 or an outline for how it may be moved forward in an EW logging solution. No up-front disqualifications were identified. The distinction between representation and query notation is emphasized. Novel contributions include an abstract data model of the EW simulation logging stream, and an exploratory conformation to both the relational and HDF5 data models
