Abstract:

This report describes progress during the 11th quarter of this program and highlights the current status of the research. Some of the more notable activities this period included 1 more development, analyses, and initial recommendedsuggested designs for the AAWSEA, 2 identification, design, and analyses of a novel leaky-wave high-gain HPM-capable antenna that can be directly-connected, without requiring mode-conversion, to any cylindrical-type HPM-source having a TM01-circular mode output, and 3 demonstrating via 3D models a method to incorporate HPM-capable leaky-waveguides into an extended but still fairly-compact package, in which the inherent frequency-based beam-scanning is effectively compensated, yielding a significantly broader-bandwidth antenna with a fixed-beam direction.
