Abstract:
Aerodynamic design of the wind tunnel model has progressed as follows 1 Advanced technology wing is complete 2 Simple hinge leading and trailing edge variable camber flap is complete 3 Lateral control system is complete 4 Smooth, continuously curved variable camber leading and trailing edge flaps is being completed. Wind tunnel model design and fabrication are to be completed to support 21 May initial test entry. Lateral control system design and its integration with variable camber control design is underway. Structural design criteria and design loads are being developed. Design of the variable camber flap system is proceeding. Alternatives permitting increased deflections are being evaluated. Author
