Abstract:

The objective of this study is to develop composites of rubber and fibrous materials having properties useful for Army weapon applications that require resistance to petroleum-based oils, fuels and steam. Butadieneacrylonitrile, epichlorchydrin, silicone, urethane, and vinylbutadiene rubbers are investigated for use in the fabrication of packings and gaskets for weapon applications.
