Tracking Mode Operation of a CDAA RDF System.
Abstract:
The large aperture CDAA RDF system can be operated in several ways. One of them is in the tracking mode which uses information derived from the received output to align the beam of the array in the direction from which the signal arrives. The difference in phase between the two halves of the array is the signal characteristic used to rotate the array to the desired azimuth. The difference between the azimuth to which the array is aligned and the signal azimuth is indicated by the phase difference. Thus, a good approximation to the signal may be determined even for those signals for which the azimuthal angle of arrival changes rapidly. Author
